Spanish is the second most spoken language in the world with at least 400 million speakers and the most spoken language throughout South and Central America, Spain, and much of the United States. Speaking another language can seem daunting at first, but Spanish is one of the easier languages to learn, especially for native English speakers. This course will include a review of basic Spanish grammar and vocabulary, how to talk about transportation, shopping, clothing, leisure activities, food, household goods, and more. 

Recommendation: Spanish I. 

After completing this course, you should be able to:

  • Recognize vocabulary for travel, food, clothing, and leisure activities
  • Recall how to use verbs to talk about things that have been done
  • Identify grammar rules for commands and possession
  • Recall key facts about Spanish speaking countries
  • Identify how to discuss household goods and ownership
